Ironically Green

I was reading about the Big Green Bus, a bio-diesel plug for some university, and I was thinking that most "green" folks are creating/using bio-diesel to help save the environment , which is perfectly brilliant; however, the need for fuel is driven by fast food, which pollutes the body. Hmmm - I find it ironic that someone would save the earth at the expense of a life. Maybe we should skip the middle man and use people for car fuel.

Nonreturning Ulcers

I was talking with a new CSUWP fellow the other eve
when my stomach felt like a seive.
She sounded excited, nervous, tense
My intestines were getting dense.
She told me of all the had to do
(I just can't think of anything intestinal that rhymes with "do"- create your own dirty rhyme here).
I missed the WP jumping in
the brass knuckles, piggybacks, and gin.
Then I thought of something that made me mellow
I remembered I was STILL a fellow.
Althoght I can't promise I'll be consistent
I do promise to NOT be distant.
So may good things come your way
and I'll close with Namaste'.

Big Bird Catches Avian Flu

This could be the end of days. Sesame Street favorite, Big Bird, has contracted the big bird flu. Neighbors are nervous about what this means for "the hood"(as they call it off set).
Although Bert worried about contractability issues that could be incurred with his pigeon, Bernice, she has been quarantineded. No worries for viewers though-- her stand in/stunt double will be is a red squirrel from Casper,Wyoming.
Oscar the grouch was visiblely shaken, but when questioned further he just said, "So much for my Thanksgiving plans," and laughed silently. Further investigation is pending.

Into the great perhaps

"Every new beggining comes from some other begginings end."

As I wrap up another year, put a notch in the desk and gear up for nearly 90 days without students, I wonder- what will be this summer?

Every year I've lost a student - to car accidents, suicide, or disease. Not this year. Inside I rejoice, but who will hear. Who will care and who will go on doing as they always do?

Thought for the day:
If it was your last day on Earth, what would you tell the people you love...and why are you waiting?
